The MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Bongi Sithole-Moloi is saddened by the passing awayof Royal Eagles coach, Roger Sikhakhane this morning, Saturday, 03/11/18. “We have learnt with shock of the death of Coach Roger Sikhakhane this morning. We were aware that he has not been well for some time. But we were hoping that he would recover and continue with his good work of leading one of our National First Division teams Royal Eagles FC to promotion at the end of the season,” said MEC Sithole-Moloi.

“Roger has had an illustrious career as a football coach having helped two teams, Chippa United and Thanda Royal Zulu to promotion to the Premiership division. He was part of the generation of young South African coaches who have emerged over the recent past to make a mark in professional football inthe country. We were still expecting a lot from him. On behalf of the KZN Department of Sport andRecreation, Provincial Government and the people of KwaZulu-Natal, I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, his team Royal Eagles and the football fraternity. May his soul rest ineternal peace,” she said.
