KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation Bongi Sithole-Moloi has urged the people of KwaZulu-Natal to exercise on a regular basis. Sithole-Moloi was addressing hundreds of youngsters and the elderly in Imbali township near Pietermaritzburg during the Active Fridays campaign on Friday, 23/11/18.

"KZN is a winning province and therefore we should ensure that we exercise our bodies so that we remain healthy. I'm very thankful to the elderly for coming out in your numbers. You are leading by example and we hope that the youth before us today will carry the baton of leading a healthy lifestyle," said the MEC.

MEC Sithole-Moloi also said she was concerned about the social ills that are ravaging the youth in the townships and wants to ensure that the Active Fridays programmes are visible in all townships.

"The youth in townships should take better care of their health and not be found loitering in taverns."

MEC Sithole-Moloi is leading the Active Fridays campaign in all districts to encourage citizens to live active and healthy lifestyles. This programme started in Durban on Friday, 16 November 2018.
