Sport and Recreation hosts major boxing extravaganza

As part of ongoing efforts to revive boxing in the Province, the KZN Department of Sport and Recreation (DSR) is proud to announce the hosting of the 3rd annual Provincial Boxing Tournament scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday, 4-5 November.

The competition, which features both professional and open style boxing (amateur) fights, takes place at the Olive Convention Centre in Durban. This year’s tournament is organized by Zandile Malinga’s Starline Boxing Promotions and other professional promoters from the Province. It features numerous open style-boxing fights as well as 16 professional bouts.

Draw card bouts include the heavyweight clash between Marc Soobremoney and Mduduzi Dlamini; Jaden Mathew takes on Paul Stoltz (heavyweight); Siphiwesakhe Kunene against Trinity Mhlongo (welterweight) as well as the female bout between Sthandiwe Ngcobo and Mpume Sibiya (lightweight). Free entry.
