ETHEKWINI LEADS NETBALL RANKINGS

EThekwini Metro females and males teams top the newly released KZN Netball provincial rankings following their grand performance at the Provincial Netball Championships held at Ugu Sport and Leisure Centre in Margate this past weekend, 28-29 January.

All districts had one team per gender, with the exception of the Metro which had two each because of their larger club affiliation. Two of the Metro's teams faltered along the way while the other pair went all the way to win both the females and males finals each. Zululand also had an equal chance to be double winners, however that was not to be. The males final was decided only on extra time after a 21-21 stalemate.

For their efforts Zululand ended as runners up in both categories. The final scores were eThekwini 33 - Zululand 26 for males and eThekwini 18 - Zululand 17 for females.
