The deadline for submission of applications for the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Relief Fund for the sport and recreation sector has been extended to Friday, 05 June 2020.

This has been announced by KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation, Hlengiwe Mavimbela,

“Due to the lockdown restrictions many people were not able to travel to our district offices and federations offices to submit their applications. We believe that the relaxation of lockdown regulations to Level 3 on Monday, will offer potential beneficiaries especially from rural areas, an opportunity to submit their applications and obtain the necessary supporting documentation. We urge all sport and recreation practitioners to take advantage of this opportunity and apply for relief funding,” said MEC Mavimbela.

The deadline for submissions was originally set for Friday, 29 May 2020. Over 400 applications had been received mainly from electronic submissions by closing deadline.
